Sunday night, welcome back everyone

Welcome back to the blog, last week I was on YT.  Bitcoin ATM matters I wish to discuss are: Revenue share vs rent (why it’s important to offer both) As we know, some retailers want the certainty of a fixed monthly payment of cash, and this is understandable. Other retailers want revenue share "this is more common with retailers who have had machines, and see the use flow" Rent is important for host locations like shopping malls. Malls are already geared for rent with their existing tenants. Revenue share doesn't fit so well in their balance sheets... Who will be the first to offer outdoor graded bitcoin atms? Which ATM company of the 36 in existence will be the first to offer outdoor graded, (drive thru or walk up ATMS) Let me say I am excited about this prospect. My mind already hashed out how to secure locations. I will definitely talk more on this as I love being forward looking. Gents, that's it for this week. It is 9:30 tonight and I have a mountain of marketing...

Cigar shops, new bitcoin ATM target, whale hunting, and the three tiers of ATM grading.

I have begun to target cigar shops, they kind of cycled in my rotation when I was placing for smoke shops. I was hesitant at first, but I noticed a few things about Cigar shops which changed my mind. 1. Centralized locations. Cigar shops, are; as you can imagine, mostly downtown which put them smack dab in the middle of a huge percentage of traffic. 2. Long operational hours. It's not what you think, I know...These baby's actually operate crazy long hours, like 10am-11pm which allows more bitcoin purchase/sales. 3. Rich and older male clientele. As more wallets integrate bitcoin purchases within the wallets directly, we have to look at targeting older clientele. Seniors are less trusting about wallet purchases, and prefer to buy in the flesh. This leads perfectly into my next topic, whale hunting. Are we saturating parts of our market, and therefore missing out on opportunities? More ATM operators are only going for 24h gas stations, They are completely foregoing wealthy zip c...

Merry X-mas, you bad little bitcoin ATM elfs.

So I noticed a new way to get your Bitcoin ATMs on google maps; that is, to have your host add it as a "department" on their google listings. So Sam's smokeshop can go into their google page and add "xyz bitcoin atm" as a department. This propagates so that anybody using maps can now see your ATMs.  Next I want to say I am impressed by the BATM2 heads, I think we should use these more as opposed to the clunky stand based machines. We will get more traction from brick and mortar stores. Love you all! and enthusiastically made this blog 1 day ahead *blushes*

Bitcoin swipers integrating with PoS systems (our next step as an industry)

Continuing on last week’s material about getting bitcoin swipers to communicate with PoS. You will need to reach out -to- the PoS companies for this integration. This will not be easy. These companies are large and in ivory towers. BUT It is do-able, I advise using research companies to get people with an “in” already at the company, get their emails, and tell them you want to integrate your Bitcoin swipers with their software. Rocket reach is a great company for this. Anyway here are some top PoS companies for the US: https://squareup.com/us/en/point-of-sale https://www.clover.com/station-solo https://www.accupos.com/business-types/small-business-pos https://www.bpapos.com/ https://nrsplus.com/ https://pos.toasttab.com/products/point-of-sale

Bitcoin ATMs (routes for sale, and ATM radar finder)

I could see existing BTM providers wanting to buy existing routes, but I really stress the importance of the purchaser has the power. Our industry is well regulated and there aren't many options a route seller can pursue except another ATM company. BE CHOOSEY. When you look at a route for sale, look at each machines performance. Tell XYZ seller "Hey I don't want these locations" for locations which underperform. I would also say it's a good idea to see if those locations have out clauses in their leases. You could dwindle a 20 machine route down to 10 active and 10 warehoused.  Alright. Now I wanted to list a website which can be used to broadcast your ATMs location "Hopefully blogger allows external links" check 'em out: https://coinatmradar.com/
Bitcoin swipers have made their first debuts and this is a proud moment for our industry. To say bitcoin swipers is to say "handheld terminals which dock bitcoin from consumer's wallets" Though a bit step, there are still a couple things which we need to make seamless transactions in store establishments. Swipers and point of sales systems need to communicate. That is so say when Joey comes and buys a candy bar that amounts to $2.14 (.14 being tax) 0.000022 is the mBTC due. Now, without the PoS communicating with the reader, you would have to manually enter that mBTC amount into the reader. How cumbersome and potentially error laden!  We need to get PoS providers to allow us (in the bitcoin pos field) to get access to their systems so that OUR swipers propagate and record transactions. This is ever-evolving, we already see Square PoS losing traction to Toast and other competitors. I am going to coin this "swiper and pos integration" this integration is going t...

Thanksgiving week Bitcoin ATM matters:

1. Bolting machines to the ground yes or no? 2. Flat rate of rent or revenue share? 3. Getting your locations on Google Maps. 1. Bolting machines to the ground “by using redhead bolts” is a common practice by operators. This secures ATMs against theft in respects to to smash and grabs. It also protects against irate customers pulling machines down. Let’s be honest, many of our machines are in at risk stores so this is a good precaution.   In business, it is another hinderance…You have to source a contractor at times to do this task.. and we care about placing as many ATMs as we can AS FAST as possible.   Perhaps your attorney can add a clause to mitigate this? Saying something like “Business will not hold ATM owner liable for any crushing or injury that may occur from tip-overs? Or you can put a sticker on the machine with such language. 2. ATM companies offer hosts a flat rate, revenue share or a combination between them both. What is the consensus for hosts? What do -they- p...
